Josephine Grace

SINGER-SONGWRITER | ACTOR | MULTI-INSTRUMENTALIST

Jo classifies herself primarily as a folk singer-songwriter/musician. She plays flute, guitar, piano & alto saxophone; and has composed various pieces on most of these instruments. Currently most of her released music consists of guitar and voice, but a sample of her piano and flute writing/playing can be found featured on the track, “Navigating Galilee” from her album of the same name (Navigating Galilee). Jo describes Navigating Galilee as an evocative collection of pieces centered around navigating loss and love.

She grew up in a tiny town located on the south-eastern tip of Nebraska, but has spent the last five years in NYC studying acting and music. After her graduation from The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in 2018, she made her New York debut on the stage of the Manhattan Repertory Theater. In 2019, she was given the opportunity to perform in The American Theater of Actors’ (ATA) Shakespeare in Concert, as well as, play Nina in Chekhov’s The Seagull (also at ATA). Last year, she released her first album of 12 songs titled, Navigating Galilee. (Available on all major streaming platforms.) This year, Josephine cofounded the acting ensemble Sophomoric Society. She is very excited to be directing and acting in one of Sophomoric’s first projects: Kenneth Lonergan’s This Is Our Youth.
